Lagos and Netherlands Collaborate on Coastal Protection

The Lagos State Government has entered into a partnership with the Netherlands to focus on coastal protection and infrastructure development. This collaboration was marked by a high-level Dutch delegation led by Mr.

Michael Deelen, the Consul General of the Netherlands in Lagos. The partnership aims to strengthen investment in Lagos, particularly through the upcoming Lagos 3.0 major investment summit scheduled for June 8-9, 2026, at Eko Hotel and Suites.

The summit will serve as a platform to connect global investors with opportunities across infrastructure, technology, and sustainable sectors. Mr.

Folashade Ambros Medebem emphasized Lagos's ambition to remain Africa's leading investment destination. The partnership is expected to support long-term, data-driven solutions to address coastal environmental challenges.

Ongoing projects in Lagos's coastal zone are already creating new investment pathways. Mr.

Deelen reaffirmed the Netherlands' commitment to providing technical expertise and financial solutions, particularly for climate-resilient infrastructure development.
