NLC and TUC Endorse Hamzat for Lagos Governorship 2027

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) have officially endorsed Obafemi Hamzat for the Lagos State governorship in the upcoming 2027 elections. This announcement was made during the annual celebration of the 2026 World Labor Day at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena.

The endorsement, led by NLC Lagos State Council Chairperson Funmi Sessi and TUC leader Abiodun Aladetan, signifies a substantial boost to Hamzat's candidacy and reflects the increasing support from labor organizations within the state. This development follows earlier endorsements from key stakeholders within the All Progressives Congress (APC), including the Governor's Advisory Council (GAC) and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who has publicly identified Hamzat as his preferred successor.

The decision aims to ensure the continuity of governance and sustainable development in Lagos State. Prominent APC leaders, including state chairman Cornelius Ojelabi and Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker Mudashiru Obasa, have also shown support for Hamzat.
