Hamzat's 2027 Lagos Governorship Bid Gains APC Support

Obafemi Hamzat, the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, is gaining momentum in his bid for the governorship in 2027, receiving significant backing from prominent members of the All Progressives Congress (APC). On Thursday, support was expressed by Lagos APC Chairman Cornelius Ojelabi, Speaker of the State House of Assembly Mudashiru Obasa, and Senator Ganiyu Solomon, among others.

During a visit to the APC secretariat on ACM Road, Ogba, Ojelabi assured Hamzat of the party's backing, highlighting his leadership qualities. The discussions emphasized the need for strategic planning to stabilize and develop Lagos, with a commitment to ensuring that the failures of past elections do not recur in 2027.

Former Minister Musiliu Obanikoro praised Hamzat's capability to sustain Lagos's growth trajectory. The leaders urged residents, particularly in Mushin, to actively participate in the electoral process and demonstrate loyalty to the party's leadership.
