Lagos Police's Eko Strike Force Recovers 111 Firearms

The Lagos State Police, under the leadership of Commissioner Olohundar Jimoh, has established the Eko Strike Force, a tactical squad designed to strengthen security operations across the state. This unit was created to fill operational gaps where existing units were unable to respond quickly enough.

The Eko Strike Force began with five vehicles and has expanded to 70, including tactical patrol vans and armored personnel carriers, approved by the Inspector General of Police for high-risk operations. The squad operates both overtly and covertly, maintaining public confidence while effectively tracking criminal networks.

Within its first year, the Eko Strike Force recovered 111 illegal firearms, marking a significant breakthrough in combating violent crime. The unit's strategies have improved emergency response times to under five minutes.

Commissioner Jimoh commended the Lagos State Government for its continuous investment in security and highlighted the support from local authorities in providing modern facilities for the Eko Strike Force.
