Lagos State Adds 172,927 Vulnerable Households to Social Register in 2025, Governor Sanwo-Olu Presents N4.237 Trillion Budget

Lagos State has expanded its social register by identifying 172,927 new vulnerable households in 2025, bringing the total to 688,759 households and 2,681,507 individuals. Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized Lagos' economic trajectory and its position as a powerhouse in Africa.

The proposed budget for 2026 prioritizes inclusive development and aims to reduce poverty through social protection measures. The budget breakdown includes significant allocations for personnel costs, debt servicing, and key sectors.

Lagos State's Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) has shown growth, reaching N1.26 trillion in 2024.
