The Lagos State government, represented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Systems, has committed to increasing support for farmers to improve their livelihoods and ensure food sufficiency in Lagos and Nigeria. This announcement was made by Oluwarotimi Fashola, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture and Food Systems, during an awareness walk held to celebrate the 2026 World Food Day.
Fashola stated that food security is a vital aspect of social security and highlighted the importance of collaboration with genuine stakeholders in the agricultural ecosystem.
