Lagos to Revolutionize Water Transportation with Omi Eko Project

Lagos State is set to introduce the Omi Eko Project, a groundbreaking initiative designed to transform water transportation across the state. Scheduled for launch on October 17, 2025, the project by the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) aims to improve safety, efficiency, and access to water transport while reducing carbon emissions.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's vision for a cleaner and smarter Lagos will be realized through this initiative, which includes modernizing water transport infrastructure, expanding the fleet, and enhancing passenger experience.
