Lagos State Launches 360m Euros Waterways Project with AFD and EU

The Lagos State Government collaborates with AFD, EU, and EIB to introduce the Omi Eko project, a modernized waterways transportation system in Lagos. With a 360m Euros investment, the project aims to enhance connectivity, improve residents' daily lives, and establish an efficient and affordable ferry system.

The initiative includes 15 ferry routes spanning 140 kilometers, upgraded terminals, and state-of-the-art electric vessels. Officials like Governor Sanwo-Olu and representatives from France and the EU commend the project for its transformative impact on Lagos and the region's connectivity.
