Lagos State Graduates Second Cohort in Employability Scheme

The Lagos State government has successfully graduated the second cohort of beneficiaries from its employability scheme, which is part of a broader workforce development strategy. This initiative is implemented in partnership with the UK-based firm, King's Trust.

The program consists of a six-week intensive training period followed by a 12-week internship designed to provide participants with practical, industry-relevant experience. The training covers critical sectors of the economy, including ready-to-wear garment production, baking, electrical solar installation, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, hospital management, digital marketing, and office administration.

The scheme is delivered in collaboration with the Skill Dream Centre and emphasizes leadership development. The program aims to create pathways to employment and self-reliance, moving beyond conventional training by combining technical instruction with workplace exposure.

This initiative reflects a collaborative approach between the government and its partners to strengthen human capital development and align with broader development priorities, particularly in expanding job opportunities and promoting sustainable economic growth.
