Lamine Yamal Injured but Expected to Join World Cup Squad

Lamine Yamal, a first-team player for FC Barcelona, has sustained a hamstring injury to his left leg during a La Liga match against Celta Vigo on Wednesday. The club announced on Thursday that he will undergo conservative treatment and will miss the rest of the season.

However, he is expected to be fit for the upcoming World Cup, which runs from June 11 to July 19. Spain's national team will begin their campaign in Group H against Cape Verde on June 15, followed by matches against Saudi Arabia on June 21 and Uruguay six days later.

Yamal expressed his determination on social media, stating that this injury is merely a setback and he will return stronger. Despite missing games earlier in the season due to a groin issue, Yamal has been a key player for Spain, scoring six goals in 25 appearances and contributing to their success in Euro 2024.

He is anticipated to be included in manager Lui de la Fuente's final squad for the World Cup, despite the risk of aggravating his injury.
