LASERC Grants Distribution Licenses to Excel, IE Energy in Lagos

The Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission (LASERC) has issued distribution licenses to Excel Distribution Company Limited and IE Energy Lagos Limited, marking a significant development in the electricity distribution sector. These entities will now take over the operations previously handled by Eko Electricity Distribution Plc and Ikeja Electric Plc, respectively.

The license presentation ceremony held in Lagos brought together key stakeholders and LASERC commissioners. With the issuance of these new licenses, Eko Electricity Distribution Plc and Ikeja Electric Plc will cease to exist, signaling a shift in the competitive electricity market in Lagos State.
