Latvia Updates Visa and Residence Permit Fees for 2026

Latvia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs published its updated schedule of consular fees for visa and residence permit applications, which took effect on May 1, 2026. The fees are regulated by Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No. 707, originally signed in Riga on November 21, 2018, and last updated in March 2026.
Applicants seeking residence permits will pay €180 if they are students in accredited institutions, former Latvian citizens, or immediate family members of Latvian citizens or permanent residents. All other applicants will incur a fee of €252.
An additional €90 fee applies if consular staff must scan and transmit supporting documents to Latvia's Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs. The fee for a uniform visa invitation request is also €90.
Payments can be made by card, through a licensed payment service provider, or via online transfer, and must be settled prior to service delivery. The Director of the Consular Department has the authority to waive fees under certain conditions.
