Latvia Lists 15 Grounds for Residence Permit Rejections

Latvia has specified 15 grounds for rejecting a foreigner's residence permit application, which are crucial for anyone wishing to enter or reside in the country long-term. The reasons include the non-submission of required documents, submission of false information, insufficient financial resources, and the provision of unrecognized documents.

Health disorders and illegal residency also contribute to potential rejections. Additionally, individuals listed as prohibited from entering the Schengen area, those with criminal convictions, or those who have lost their right to reside may be denied a permit.

Other disqualifying factors include joining foreign military services, entering a marriage solely for residency purposes, and being under the guardianship of someone prohibited from entering Latvia. If an inviter withdraws their letter of invitation, the application is also compromised.
