LAUTECH Suspends Academic Activities After Student's Death in Oyo State

The Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) in Iseyin, Oyo State, has suspended academic activities for two weeks after a 200-level student from the Department of Agricultural Economics was killed in a road accident. The incident occurred on the Iseyin-Saki road, prompting angry students to set vehicles ablaze as the driver fled the scene.

The Registrar, Olayinka Balogun, described the event as heartbreaking and announced the suspension to allow the community to grieve. The university urged students to take safety measures along the Iseyin-Saki road to prevent similar tragedies.
