VeryDarkMan Critiques Legal Profession at NBA Conference

VeryDarkMan, a social media activist, made controversial remarks about the legal profession during the Nigerian Bar Association’s 66th Annual General Conference held in Port Harcourt. His participation in a panel discussion on insecurity drew criticism from some legal professionals who questioned his invitation.

In a video response, VeryDarkMan stated that he aimed to represent the voiceless and poor Nigerians. He rejected the notion of law being a noble profession in Nigeria, asserting that many lawyers are unemployed or struggling financially.

He described law as one of the most economically challenged professions, questioning the number of trained lawyers who are actively practicing. He pointed out the disparity between the increasing number of law graduates and the limited job opportunities available, stating that many graduates end up in unrelated jobs, such as selling bedsheets.

His comments sparked further debate about the state of the legal profession in Nigeria.
