LAWMA Seals Illegal Markets Over Environmental Violations in Lagos

The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has sealed several illegal markets and structures along the Ojuelegba axis adjacent to the Tejuosho main market due to environmental violations. Bayo Mogaji, head of the LAWMA department, highlighted the dangers of indiscriminate waste disposal on public health and the cityscape.

Muyiwa Gbadegesin, LAWMA's Managing Director, condemned the practice and warned of sanctions for violators. The closure will remain until waste compliance is achieved, with LAWMA collaborating with relevant agencies for enforcement.
