Lawyer Challenges INEC's N1.5bn Voter Register Fee in Court as Exploitative

Lawyer Vincent Ottaokpukpu has filed a lawsuit in the Federal High Court in Abuja against INEC, challenging the N1.5 billion processing fee for the voter register as exploitative and unlawful. Ottaokpukpu argues that the fee is excessive and seeks the court to declare it null and void.

He also requests fair cost determination for the certification of voter register documents. The lawyer accuses INEC of arbitrary exploitation and unfairness in setting the fee, citing violations of the Freedom of Information Act.
