Legal Concerns Over Ochacho's ₦400m Mansion Gift to Peller

Bolaji Oluwatosin, a dispute resolution and corporate commercial lawyer, raised concerns regarding the legal transfer of a ₦400 million mansion from real estate entrepreneur King Ochacho to TikTok star Peller and his wife, Jarvis. The mansion, named Palace 7 and located in Life Camp, Abuja, was publicly gifted to the couple during their wedding on August 1, 2026.

Ochacho presented the gift amid applause, stating it was a brand new house worth ₦400 million. However, Oluwatosin argued that the keys, Power of Attorney, and allocation papers handed over to Peller do not amount to a perfected legal transfer.

He explained that a Power of Attorney allows one to act on another's behalf but does not establish proprietary interest. He also noted that allocation papers indicate property history rather than proof of transfer.

Oluwatosin emphasized the need for a duly executed instrument to legally transfer Ochacho’s interest, referencing relevant legal precedents and sections of the Land Use Act.
