PDP's Oluyede Critiques Makinde's Focus on Youthful Energy
Oluwole Oluyede, a former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, responded to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde's comments regarding leadership and age. Makinde, who is the presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), suggested that voters should prioritize candidates with physical fitness and energy.
Oluyede countered this by asserting that leadership should be evaluated based on performance and measurable achievements rather than age. He emphasized that Nigeria requires proven leadership and political experience, stating that youthful energy must result in tangible accomplishments.
Oluyede also criticized Makinde's remarks comparing President Bola Tinubu's age and physical strength, highlighting Tinubu's political career as an example of strategic thinking and resilience. He urged Makinde to present his record of achievements and plans for leadership instead of focusing on age and energy.
