NOA DG Urges Nigerians to Uphold Faith and Patriotism

During the Eid al-Adha celebration, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, the Director General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), called on Nigerians to uphold their faith in God and show patriotism towards their country. He stressed the need for citizens to remain committed to ideals of peace, coexistence, and mutual respect, which are essential for national unity and development.

Issa-Onilu noted that the lessons of Eid al-Adha are particularly relevant to Nigeria's current realities, highlighting the importance of sacrifice and discipline as virtues necessary for the nation's growth and stability. He encouraged Muslims to emulate the exemplary devotion and obedience of Prophet Ibrahim by promoting acts of kindness and charity, especially towards less privileged members of society during the celebration.

Furthermore, he urged citizens to avoid actions that threaten public peace and unity, advocating for dialogue and tolerance. Issa-Onilu reaffirmed the agency's commitment to sustaining public enlightenment campaigns aimed at promoting patriotism and active citizen participation in nation-building.
