Nkechi Blessing Sunday Returns to Filmmaking After Boxing Loss

Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday announced her return to filmmaking following her boxing debut, where she lost by knockout. She described her first experience in the ring as a courageous feat, having trained for only two days before the fight.

In an Instagram post, she stated, “Still a CHAMPION regardless of the result… even the blind knows who the winner is,” and expressed her desire to return to making movies, saying, “let’s go back to making movies cus I no be boxer.” Despite the loss, she indicated her willingness to participate in another boxing bout, stating, “Will I do this again? OH YES.” Blessing reflected on her experience, noting that she had never fought anyone before but faced the challenge with courage.

She dedicated her performance to her late mother, Gloria Obasi Sunday, and requested her mother’s favorite song to be played before entering the ring. She thanked Balmoral Promotions and Bet9ja for the opportunity, calling the experience unforgettable.
