Messi Joins 900-Goal Club as Inter Miami Exits Cup

On Wednesday, during a CONCACAF Champions Cup clash at Chase Stadium, Lionel Messi achieved the significant milestone of 900 career goals. He scored just seven minutes into the match against Nashville SC, finishing with his left foot after creating space in the penalty area.

Messi became the second player to reach this landmark, following his long-time rival Cristiano Ronaldo, who was the first to cross the 900-goal mark. Messi reached this milestone in his 1,142nd appearance, fewer than Ronaldo's 1,236 matches.

Despite Messi's early breakthrough, Inter Miami's campaign ended in disappointment as Nashville SC equalized through Cristian Espinoza in the 74th minute, resulting in a 1-1 draw and Nashville advancing on away goals. The majority of Messi's goals were scored during his time at Barcelona, where he netted 672 times, and he also scored 32 goals during his tenure at Paris Saint-Germain.

Messi remains Argentina's all-time leading scorer with 115 goals.
