The 23-year-old French international has gained recognition as a promising young forward and has been a significant player for PSG.

If the transfer is finalized, Barcola is expected to retain the No. 29 shirt, which holds special significance for him since childhood. He explained that his attachment to the number originated from playing FIFA, where he was inspired by the fictional character Alex Hunter in the game’s 'The Journey' mode.

Barcola made a promise to himself to wear No. 29 upon turning professional, a commitment he has upheld throughout his career at PSG and Lyon. The No. 29 shirt has been vacant at Liverpool since Arthur Melo wore it during the 2022/23 season.
