ADC Spokesperson Mocks Tinubu Over Loan Controversy: Calls for Transparency

African Democratic Congress (ADC) spokesperson Bolaji Abdullahi criticized President Bola Tinubu's government over a loan controversy. Abdullahi mocked Tinubu for initially declaring that Nigeria no longer needed to borrow due to meeting revenue targets, only for overzealous officials to announce plans to secure a billion-dollar loan from the World Bank.

The ADC spokesperson accused the government of inconsistency and highlighted the need for transparency in borrowing practices. Abdullahi's remarks come amidst concerns raised by Speaker Tajudeen Abbas about Nigeria's escalating debt levels, calling for urgent reforms in borrowing practices and oversight to prevent a financial crisis.
