LP Urges Akpabio and Abbas to Stop Tinubu's Reckless Borrowing Amid Nigeria's Debt Crisis

The Labour Party (LP) has called on Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, to halt President Bola Tinubu's alleged reckless borrowing. LP's Interim National Publicity Secretary, Tony Akeni, expressed concerns over Nigeria's escalating debt profile, citing recent data showing a significant increase in public debt.

Akeni criticized Tinubu's request for a fresh loan from the World Bank amid rising debt levels, inflation, and poverty in the country. The LP urged Akpabio and Abbas to use their positions to prevent further borrowing that could exacerbate Nigeria's debt crisis and economic challenges, highlighting the need for fiscal responsibility and accountability in managing the country's finances.
