Adunni Ade Faces Fan Backlash After Revealing Islam Faith

Nollywood actress Adunni Ade stated in an interview with media personality Chude Jidenowo that she faced backlash from some Christian fans after revealing her Muslim faith. Ade explained that she had previously hesitated to identify as a Muslim due to the perception within the Nollywood industry, where she claimed it is “almost forbidden” to do so.

After publicly sharing her beliefs, she noticed a decline in her social media following, with some fans unfollowing her and others sending messages expressing their disapproval. Despite this, she emphasized that her faith in Islam is personal and not solely about outward appearances, but rather about how one treats others.

Ade mentioned that she had attended various churches and acknowledged the value of Christianity, but ultimately stated that Islam is what resonates with her. She expressed indifference towards the loss of fans, focusing instead on her personal beliefs and the support she received from the Muslim community.
