Tekno Discusses Love's Transformation Since 2020

In a recent interview with Cool FM Lagos, Nigerian singer Augustin Kelechi, popularly known as Tekno, discussed the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on romantic relationships, stating that love has not been the same since 2020. He argued that the lockdown period led couples to spend unprecedented amounts of time together, which exposed the realities of their relationships that they had previously ignored.

Tekno suggested that this forced proximity made many individuals realize that they might not genuinely love their partners, as they experienced emotional fatigue. He emphasized that healthy relationships require space and time apart for partners to appreciate each other's presence.

Tekno also expressed concern over the declining state of marriage, noting that infidelity has become increasingly common and that societal values regarding relationships have shifted compared to previous generations. He remarked on how the entertainment industry has also transformed, with love stories no longer being central to music and film narratives.
