LP Crisis Deepens: Usman Faction Criticizes INEC Over Abure's Attendance

The crisis within the Labour Party deepens as the Usman faction condemns the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for permitting Julius Abure, the rival faction chairman, to participate in a party meeting in Abuja. Usman's camp accuses Abure of impersonation and violating a court order.

This move has intensified the existing complications within INEC, with the Usman faction arguing that Abure's recognition by INEC amounts to defiance of a valid court judgment. This incident echoes a similar episode in July 2024 when Abure was asked to leave an INEC meeting.

The faction led by Asogwa urges INEC to enforce the court order recognizing their leadership.
