Labour Party Criticizes Rhodes-Vivour's Hasty Defection to ADC

The Labour Party (LP) criticized Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, a former Lagos State governorship candidate, for his swift defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Rhodes-Vivour's move was deemed premature by the LP, as he aims to contest the 2023 Lagos State governorship seat under the ADC banner.

The defection was formally announced at an event in Alimosho LGA, which was initially disrupted by security operatives but later relocated. Rhodes-Vivour highlighted the need for a united opposition front to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections, emphasizing the urgency of unity among opposition parties for a successful coalition.
