Police Intercept Gunrunners in Katsina, Recover Machine Gun and Ammunition

In Katsina, the Police intercepted two suspected gunrunners and recovered a machine gun along with 1,295 live ammunition rounds. The suspects, Abdussalam Muhammed and Aminu Mamman, were apprehended following credible intelligence.

The operation led to the discovery of a General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) and PKT ammunition concealed in a vehicle. Preliminary investigations suggest the arms were being transported for distribution to a criminal gang.

The Police are commended for the successful interception and urged to continue efforts, while appealing to Nigerians to provide intelligence to combat illegal arms trafficking.
