Kobbi Mainoo Signs New Manchester United Deal Until 2031

Kobbi Mainoo has committed to a new long-term contract with Manchester United, which will run until 2031. This contract comes after speculation regarding the midfielder's future, particularly following his previous deal that was set to expire in 2027.

Mainoo, a 21-year-old academy graduate, has made 98 senior appearances and notably scored the winning goal in the 2024 FA Cup final. He has also featured for the England National Football Team in the UEFA Euro 2024 final.

Earlier in the season, Mainoo struggled for minutes under former manager Ruben Amorim, who had pushed for a January loan move to Napoli, a request that Manchester United rejected, indicating their desire for him to remain at Old Trafford. Interim boss Michael Carrick has seen Mainoo's form improve, and he missed a defeat to Leeds due to injury.

His recent performances have led to a call-up from England coach Thomas Tuchel for friendlies against Uruguay and Japan last month. Manchester United's director of football, Jason Wilcox, praised Mainoo's development.
