Makhachev Defends Welterweight Title at UFC 330 on August 16

Islam Makhachev is set to defend his Welterweight Championship against Ian Machado Garry in the main event of UFC 330, scheduled for 16 August at the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, with the main card beginning at 3am CAT. Makhachev, who holds a record of 28-1, tied for the longest winning streak in UFC history at 16 fights after defeating Jack Della Maddalena by unanimous decision to claim the Welterweight title at UFC 322 in November 2022.

The 34-year-old, a former Lightweight Champion, has expressed his intention to humble Garry, who has a record of 17-1 and secured his title shot with a unanimous decision victory over former champion Belal Muhammad in November 2022. The co-main event features Mackenzie Dern defending her Women’s Strawweight Championship against Gillian Robertson, who is on a five-fight winning streak and aims to dethrone Dern.

The main card also includes a middleweight bout between Mansur Abdul-Malik and Dustin Stoltzfus, and a lightweight clash featuring Edson Barboza against Esteban Ribovics.
