Pereira Seeks Rematch with Gane After UFC Knockout Loss

Alex Pereira has expressed his desire to fight Ciryl Gane next, following his knockout loss to Gane in their interim heavyweight UFC title fight in June. Pereira, 39, is determined to become the first three-weight champion in UFC history.

He stated on social media that after a period of rest, he anticipates a rematch with Gane, who is 36 years old. Pereira mentioned, “I think the fight that makes sense is Ciryl Gane,” and he is committed to working towards that goal.

He also referenced illegal shots during their previous fight, suggesting that he could perform better in a rematch. Gane is currently set to fight UFC champion Tom Aspinall in an undisputed contest, although Aspinall is recovering from eye injuries sustained in a fight against Gane almost a year ago.

If Aspinall cannot return by the end of 2026, Gane may take another fight in the interim. Pereira has previously held UFC championships in middleweight and light-heavyweight, achieving this in just seven fights.
