Kwankwaso and Malami Condole El-Rufai on Mother's Death

Rabiu Kwankwaso, former Governor of Kano State, and Abubakar Malami, former Attorney General of the Federation, extended their condolences to Nasir El-Rufai, former Governor of Kaduna State, on the passing of his mother, Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, who died in Cairo, Egypt, at the age of 100. Malami described her passing as a profound loss and assured El-Rufai of his prayers and support during this difficult time.

Kwankwaso shared a message on X, expressing deep pain over the loss and urging the family to find solace in her legacy. The death was announced by El-Rufai's grandson, Bello El-Rufai, on Facebook.

The Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) had previously granted Nasir El-Rufai temporary release to participate in his mother's funeral rites, following his arraignment on corruption-related charges. Prominent Nigerians, including President Bola Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, paid tribute to the late matriarch, whose death comes shortly after the passing of her daughter-in-law, Safiya Ali El-Rufai.
