Malami, Kwankwaso Condole El-Rufai on Mother's Death

On Friday, Abubakar Malami, the former Attorney General of the Federation, and Rabiu Kwankwaso, the former Governor of Kano State, extended their condolences to Nasir El-Rufai, the former Governor of Kaduna State, over the death of his mother, Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, who reportedly passed away at the age of 100 in Cairo, Egypt. Malami described the loss as profound and pledged solidarity with El-Rufai, who is currently facing challenges related to corruption allegations.

Kwankwaso also expressed his sympathies, highlighting the legacy left by Hajiya Umma and the profound impact of losing a mother. The announcement of her death was made by her grandson, Bello El-Rufai, on Facebook.

El-Rufai is currently embroiled in legal issues, having been arraigned in a Federal High Court in Kaduna on March 24, 2023, on ten counts related to corruption and money laundering, with the case adjourned until March 31, 2026.
