The 20 African countries affected are Angola, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo Democratic Republic, Congo Republic, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Mali, Mozambique, and Rwanda. The Malaysian Immigration Department emphasizes that applicants must confirm their eligibility before submitting an application, as securing the eVisa is mandatory for travel to Malaysia for social visits.
