Malaysia Requires eVisa for 31 Countries from 2026

The Malaysian government has released a list of 31 countries whose citizens are required to obtain an electronic visa (eVisa) for social purposes, including tourism and family visits, starting in 2026. This requirement specifically pertains to a Single Entry Visa (SEV) for social visits, with eligibility determined by nationality.

Citizens from the listed countries must apply for the eVisa before arriving in Malaysia, as it cannot be obtained from within Malaysia, Israel, or North Korea. The countries listed include Afghanistan, Angola, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Colombia, Congo Democratic Republic, Congo Republic, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, India, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Mali, Montenegro, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Rwanda, Serbia, and Sri Lanka.

Additionally, Malaysia offers a Multiple Entry Visa (MEV) available to all nationalities except those from Israel and North Korea, allowing multiple entries with each stay capped at 30 days.
