Malema challenges Africans on unity, as Sultan bemoans purchase of justice

In a keynote address at the Nigerian Bar Association Annual General Conference, Julius Malema emphasized the importance of African unity for economic growth and global power. He highlighted the historical solidarity between Nigeria and South Africa during apartheid and urged unity against xenophobia and government failures.

Sultan Sokoto Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar III expressed concern over the increasing transactional nature of justice in Nigeria, with the wealthy able to purchase favorable outcomes. He called on the NBA to defend the rule of law and ensure accountability for all, regardless of power or wealth.

Former Minister of Education, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, urged lawyers to uphold the integrity of the legal profession and not succumb to financial gain at the expense of justice.

The speakers collectively emphasized the need for a fair and just legal system to address governance crises and economic hardships faced by Nigerians.
