Sunrise Power's Leno Adesanya Denies Political Ties

Leno Adesanya, the promoter of Sunrise Power and Transmission Company Limited, refuted claims of political connections with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former National Security Adviser Sambo Dasuki, labeling such assertions as mischief. His comments were made in the context of ongoing discussions about the stalled Mambilla Hydroelectric Power Project.

Adesanya clarified that his primary interest lies in the project's successful development rather than political affiliations. He expressed his support for President Bola Tinubu, citing shared ethnic heritage and a long-standing personal relationship.

Adesanya also mentioned his efforts to resolve disputes related to the Mambilla project amicably, despite legal challenges, including a recent ruling by an International Chamber of Commerce arbitration tribunal in favor of the Federal Government of Nigeria. He urged stakeholders to focus on the project's potential benefits for Nigeria's power supply and economic growth.
