Technician Shot Dead in Ondo After Confronting Robbers

Mr. Idri Clement, a 47-year-old technician, was shot dead in Akur, Ondo State, after he confronted a four-man robbery gang on Friday around 1 AM.

The gang invaded his residence, attacking two houses in the Shagari area and dispossessing residents of valuables. DSP Abayomi Jimoh of the Ondo State Police Command confirmed the incident and stated that a suspect has been arrested in connection with the violent attack.

The police are conducting an ongoing investigation to apprehend all members of the robbery gang. Abdulfatai Clement, the son of the deceased, described the attack as devastating, noting that his father confronted the heavily armed robbers, who were armed with guns, axes, and cutlasses.

Mr. Idri Clement collapsed after being shot and was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

His widow, Mr. Taibat Clement, has appealed to the Ondo State government and security agencies to ensure justice for her husband’s killing.
