Kano Court Sentences Man to Death for Killing Neighbor

In a legal ruling by the Kano State High Court, Najibullah Alkasim, aged 22, has been sentenced to death by hanging for fatally stabbing his neighbor, Isyaku Ya'u Dure, during a party in Dakata Quarter on January 19, 2024. The prosecution successfully proved the charge of culpable homicide beyond a reasonable doubt, presenting testimonies, medical reports, photographs of the weapon used, and Alkasim's alleged confession statement.

Despite Alkasim denying the allegations, the court found the evidence sufficient to convict him. The defense argued insufficient evidence, but the court upheld the guilty verdict.
