Nigerian Manufacturers Spend N676.6 Billion on Generators Due to Poor Power Supply

Nigerian manufacturers, facing challenges like inflation and high production costs, spent N676.6 billion on generators and alternative energy sources in the first half of 2025. The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) reports that despite this significant expenditure, manufacturers are struggling to meet their power needs, leading to job losses and increased production expenses.

The sector faces operational constraints like inadequate power supply and high electricity costs, urging government intervention to support industrial clusters with reliable and affordable electricity solutions.
