Fatal Bus Crash on the Way to Late Bayelsa Deputy Gov's Burial Claims Lives

A tragic accident unfolded as an 18-seater bus transporting individuals to pay their final respects at the burial of the late Bayelsa Deputy Governor crashed along the Toru-Orua axis in Bayelsa State. The crash claimed the lives of at least 10 people, with several others sustaining injuries and receiving treatment at nearby hospitals.

The burial ceremony for Senator Ewhrudjakpo, who passed away suddenly on December 11, 2025, was scheduled for January 30, 2026, in his hometown of Ofoni, Sagbama Local Government Area. The event was set to include tributes from prominent figures like former President Goodluck Jonathan, Governor Douye Diri, and former Governor Seriake Dickson.
