Two Die in Tragic Accident on the Way to Bayelsa Deputy Governor's Funeral

Two individuals lost their lives in a road accident that took place on the Toru Orua-Sagbama-Ekeremor road in Bayelsa State on a Friday. The accident involved an 18-seater bus carrying passengers to the burial of a community member in Sagbama Local Government Area.

Seiyefa Brisib, the Bayelsa State Commissioner of Health, confirmed the fatal injuries and the provision of emergency care. The State Police spokesperson, DSP Musa Muhammad, verified the accident details and mentioned that the police deployed officers to the scene for rescue operations and to maintain order.

The accident occurred as the state was mourning the passing of Senator Ewhrudjakpo, who collapsed on December 11, 2025, and was laid to rest on the same Friday.
