MAPOLY Launches 10Gbps Smart Fibre Infrastructure

On Thursday, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) in Abeokuta unveiled a 10Gbps smart fibre infrastructure aimed at enhancing digital learning, research, and innovation. The Rector, Architect Dr Babatunde Jolaoso, hailed the project as a landmark achievement, emphasizing its potential to elevate the institution's global standing and contribute to national development.

Mr Balogun Khalil, Director of the Advanced Technological Innovation and Research Centre, noted that the infrastructure would support areas such as artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, addressing the technical education sector's infrastructure deficits. The Olowu of Owu, Oba Professor Saka Matemilola, commended the initiative as a strategic investment in technology-driven education, highlighting its role in providing students with practical experience and fostering research.

Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu described the project as a significant milestone in Nigeria's technology-enabled education drive, revealing his sponsorship of over 2,000 youths in relevant training programs.
