Kabiru Marafa Promises to End Banditry in Zamfara

Kabiru Marafa, the governorship candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress in Zamfara State, has committed to addressing insecurity and ending banditry within his first tenure if elected in the 2027 elections. He stated that banditry could be tackled swiftly with the necessary focus and seriousness.

During a speech on Thursday, Marafa, a former lawmaker, asserted that the fight against insecurity has not received adequate attention from authorities. He declared, “I will either end banditry in my first tenure in office or resign,” citing his extensive experience as a former commissioner and senator.

Marafa promised to eliminate insecurity within two years of taking office or vacate his position. He called on the people of Zamfara to support all NDC candidates in the upcoming elections and emphasized his commitment to improving critical sectors of the economy, particularly those affecting women and youths, who make up a significant portion of the population.
