Maritime Academy Oron Enhances Training with New Simulators and Vessel

The Maritime Academy of Nigeria (MAN) in Oron, under acting Rector Kevin Okonna, has initiated the procurement process for two new simulators to enhance training standards and meet industry requirements. The academy aims to improve its training facilities and courses to align with global maritime standards by the 3rd quarter of 2025.

MAN is collaborating with NIMASA to enhance the recognition of Nigerian seafarers' certificates of competency. Additionally, the academy is considering acquiring a training vessel for cadets' practical experience.

The approval secured in the 2025 appropriation act ensures continuous enhancement of training quality at the academy.
