Marketers Announce Plan to Sanction Fuel Stations Over Pump Malpractices

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has announced a plan to sanction fuel stations over pump malpractices in an effort to preserve the integrity of filling stations. Chief Chinedu Anyaso, chairman of IPMAN Enugu Unit, made the announcement during the association's 2025 Annual General Meeting on Sunday, August 24, 2025.

Anyaso stated that members unanimously agreed to uphold the integrity of fuel pumps to ensure Nigerians get value for their money. A task force will be established in September with specialized teams in each state unit's jurisdiction to address malpractices.

IPMAN has successfully tackled previous issues like illegal stockpiling of fuel and will use internal disciplinary procedures to address new threats. Anyaso also expressed appreciation for state governments' efforts in enhancing road security infrastructure for smooth fuel distribution.
