IPMAN Western Zone Halts Operations in Protest Against Dangote's Petrol Distribution Monopoly

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) Western Zone has decided to halt operations in solidarity with the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers over Dangote's planned petrol distribution monopoly. IPMAN expressed concerns that Dangote's entry into the petrol distribution chain could jeopardize the survival of its members' businesses and violate the Petroleum Industry Act.

The shutdown is a protest against the alleged monopoly by MRS Energy Ltd and Dangote Refinery Petrochemical Company. IPMAN emphasized the potential job losses for Petroleum Truck Drivers and the negative impact on investments.

The move aims to challenge the monopoly and protect the interests of IPMAN members in the downstream sector of the oil and gas industry.
