Timaya Advocates for Kids Over Marriage in Recent Interview

Nigerian singer Timaya, born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State in 1980, recently shared his perspective on marriage during an interview with Naija FM in 2024. He argued that marriage does not work and suggested that individuals should focus on having children instead.

Timaya's comments elicited laughter and mixed reactions from the audience, as he expressed a lack of interest in formal relationships despite having four children from three different women. His first two daughters, Emmanuella and Gracei, were born in 2012 and 2015, respectively, followed by his son Emmanuel in 2018 and his fourth child, Maya, in 2020, with businesswoman Dunni Onasanya.

Timaya emphasized that while marriage may appeal to some, he believes it is not a necessary component for a fulfilling life, leaving open the possibility of changing his opinion in the future.
